Spirit Airlines A320 Bird Strike and Engine Fire, Atlantic City Airport, Detailed Animation Video
The plane accelerated for takeoff on runway 31 of Atlantic City Airport, but the crew refused takeoff at around 60 knots due to a bird attack. It was a rejected takeoff at a low speed, and the aircraft stopped just 1,800 meters below the runway. Due to this incident, the engine caught fire. The pilots asked for a fire truck and after about a minute they asked for the plane to be evacuated. Everyone got off the plane without incident.
